Silver Ring

Handmade Silver Ring

You can make a 925 silver ring using authentic metal engraving techniques. You can experience all the processes of ring making, including engraving your favorite letters and symbols, welding with fire, and surface treatment (7 types to choose from).
You can try on the ring as you make it, so you can make a ring in the perfect size. In addition, since a craftsman will work with you to create the ring, you can be sure that it will be a highly finished ring. If you are not confident with the detailed work or find it difficult, our craftsmen will help you with the work only if you request it.

Flow

Introduction of workshop flow and process
The process images are of handmade wedding rings.

Decide the design

Decide on the design, including ring width, material, surface finish, and engraving.

Engrave

This is the process of engraving letters on the inside of the ring. After practicing, the engraving is done for the real thing. There are capital letters of the alphabet, numbers, and symbols.

Annealing

This is the process of softening metal by heating it with a burner in order to make it easier to round it into the shape of a ring.

Rounding

The metal is rounded into the shape of a ring. A wooden hammer and a tool called a core metal are used.

Soldering

The rounded metals are welded together. Finally, the ring is formed.

Texturing

The surface of the ring is patterned using a hammer or a special machine.

Polishing

Polishing is done using a machine called a micromotor Several different types of abrasives are used to achieve a shiny finish.

Completion

Finally, it is cleaned up and finally completed! Thank you for your hard work. Let's take a commemorative photo of the two of you wearing the rings!

Textures

7 types

A variety of surface finishes are available to enhance individuality. Popular among our customers are original textures such as tsuchime (hammered) and shirakaba (birch), which are patterns created on the surface of the ring using a hammer.

The image is of a handmade wedding band.

Hammered

The surface is hammered with a smooth round hammer. The uneven surface glitters and shines, giving the finish a strong sense of presence.

Nukui

We use hammers processed with stones from the Nukui Riverbank that flows next to our workshop. It has a natural texture like a rough rock surface.

Shirakaba

The pattern is inspired by the trunk of a birch tree, the symbol of Sakuho Town. It is processed by inserting many lines with a pointed hammer.

Snowflake

This texture is inspired by the surface of snow falling on Yatsugatake. A hammer with engraved patterns is used.

Plain

The surface of the ring is polished to a mirror finish until it shines.

Sand blast

The surface of the ring is sprayed with a glassy powder by a machine called a blaster to create a matte finish. It is also called honing.

Hairline

This is a matte-textured finish in which sandpaper is used to create a myriad of gentle lines on the surface of the ring. Also called satin finish.

Twist processing

Plain only

A simple plain ring with a twist for an elegant and timeless design. Twist can be applied only when the surface treatment is plain.
